Six years ago a group of us decided to ask "them" to tidy up our Market Place, High Street, the entrance to the town and to improve the public conveniences. The first thing we learned is that there is no "them". If we wanted it, we had to make it possible.

To attract substantial funds the plan had to embrace the social aspects of regeneration - health, education, employment and transport. We are indebted to West Lindsey District Council who formed the Rural Tourism Development Area Partnership of which we are a part and moulded a bid resulting in a successful £4.3 million package.
I would also like to thank my MRDT colleagues, the Town Council, Lincolnshire County Council, emda and our other RTDAP partners for their guidance and forbearance. Also the people of Market Rasen who gave us the incentive and encouragement to tackle the job.
A key role of the MRDT is to involve fully the local community. We invite you to become a member (there is currently a once only £5 membership fee) and we also need committed volunteers to join our working parties, particularly on transport matters.
The first fruits of our labours are explained on this website. You will see we are now on the cusp of substantial success.
