Substance Misuse Counselling (£148,000)

Market Rasen has a small population that does not have the sort of 'deprivation scores' that you would find in an inner city, such as high unemployment, crime, poverty. As a result, some of the projects were kept across the District, to achieve the 'critical mass' needed e.g. the Therapy Worker for substance misuse.

He is based at Lincoln Clinic and his referrals come from Market Rasen, Caistor and Gainsborough.

Exercise by Referral (share of £56,000)

Exercise by Referral is operated by WLDC's Sports and Leisure department and the sessions take place at De Aston Leisure Centre. It has proved to be extremely successful in that two thirds of the people who have gone through the project continue attending the gym.

It is possible that additional funding for this will come from the National Programme.

"Round the Table" (share of £56,000)

This is a healthy eating programme run by Market Rasen Surgery. A Health Worker was appointed and completed a Needs Assessment. The team has also produced a "Healthy Eating" Cook Book with recipes contributed by local people.

The Surgery has copies for sale at just £2.
